Tajikistan prepairs to celebrate the 5500th anniversary of the ancient city of Sarazm, the celebrations are scheduled for September and will have an international scale.

"At the General conference of the international organization, at the suggestion of Tajikistan, the celebration of the Sarazm anniversary and the 700th anniversary of the famous poet Kamol Khujandi was included in the list of UNESCO's holiday dates," said Tajik foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin.

Sarazm is the oldest settlement of the settled peoples of Central Asia. In these places, they lived from the fourth Millennium to the end of the third Millennium BC. The city has well-preserved Palace and religious buildings, as well as residential buildings. During the digging, many metal products were found here, as well as jewelry made of precious stones. In 2001, Sarazm was declared the center of formation of Tajik civilization, and in 2010 it was included in the list of UNESCO world heritage sites.
